Program fees
Freshmen and their parents/guests: $210 per person
FPF Freshmen and their parents/guests: $215 per person
Transfers and their parents/guests: $110 per person
Pell grant students will see a fee reduction at the time they register for a program. The reduction does not apply to parents.
Optional overnight early arrival accommodations: $32 per person
Billing
Student fees will be billed through the campus billing service, CARS: usually in September for fall admits and February for spring admits. No payment is necessary for students when they sign up. Your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) fee of $100 does not cover CalSO fees.
Parent/Guest fees must be paid at the time of registration, using a credit card.
Failure to pay your CalSO fees by the billing deadlines will result in a $20 per month CARS late charge and may result in a hold on your records.
Cancellation fees
Canceling or changing your reservation at least 7 days before the program: full credit or refund minus $20 per person.
Canceling your reservation 7 days or less before the program: 50% refund.
Canceling the day of the program or not showing up: no refund, you will be billed the entire amount.
If you withdraw from the University, you are still responsible for canceling your reservation and for the fees listed above.
