frosh rave about CalSO Overall, I think that CalSO is a good program. I came back more enthusiastic and appreciative of Cal, and I'm glad to know a few classmates when I arrive in August. CalSO was also a good balance between academic topics and social advice. Rather than just stressing "study hard" or "get a life," CalSO and my counselor talked about balance. The overall CalSO experience really helped me with my worries about going off to college. The "First Year Experiences" calmed me because they showed that other people went through the same things and are now happier and more independent people. Most of all, the displays of school spirit convinced me that Cal is the best school for me, and that I have ended up where I belong. Thank you so much! I certainly feel more familiar with Cal, and it was nice to meet some other freshmen. CalSO also helped ease my mind about being an out-of-stater and not fitting in. The financial aid option was informative, but way too short. I would have liked a more general presentation and more time, but I did rate it the highest because it addressed some of my largest concerns. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to talk to so many different Cal students, who tried to help us with our schedules and provide advice or suggestions on their opinions of what would be a doable schedule. The program was amazing. I was able to meet so many new friends, and it helped me to become more social. The program helped me get an idea of how big the classrooms are. Attending the program was a great experience. I had a really good time because everyone was really friendly. My counselors were cool and very informative. It made the campus seem smaller, although it really isn't. It was truly an enjoyable experience. Within the limited amount of time, I cannot think of another introduction that would function better than CalSO does. Great job! Very welcoming, I feel warm inside now. |
