ANDY BONCHONSKY SOCCER CAMP
Andy Bonchonsky Soccer Camp is transferred to Pacific Soccer Training -- Sadly, Andy Bonchonsky is leaving the Bay Area. Due to Andy's coming relocation to Phoenix, the April 7-11 has been cancelled. University Village and Andy are happy to announce, however, that the August 18-22 camp will be going ahead as originally planned. This camp will be directed by Pacific Soccer Training Founder and Director Teale Matteson. Teale has been coaching youth through collegiate soccer for the past 20 years. GYMNASTICS PLUS CAMP

Description Basic gymnastics instruction in a fun and safe environment. Kids will be tumbling (with introductory rebounding as appropriate), balancing and swinging. This half day camp will have breaks for snacks, songs and playtime.

KIDS CORNER SUMMER CAMP

Dates Session I: June 16-27
Beginning & Intermediate Skateboarding
Skateboarding Instruction will take place in the Morning.

Learn basic techniques, pushing, carving, turning to ollies using flat ground, small launch ramps & small grind ramps. Further develop skills with advanced flat ground techniques. Field trips as students progress. Participants must bring a good quality skateboard, helmet, knee and elbow pads.
Session II: June 30-July 3 (1 week)
Play-Well Engineering FUNdamentals w/ Legos
Take a "crash course" in LEGO Demolition Derby, challenge the Battle Track, build and race a Locomotive faster than a speeding Worm Drive. Explore concepts in physics, mechanical engineering, and architecture while playing with your favorite creations. Children will be given instruction, design challenges, and competitions appropriate to their facility with LEGO™ Technic and System components. www.play-well.org

Session III: July 7-11 (1 week)
Play-Well Junkyard Challenge w/Legos
Your team will compete to design and build the fastest, strongest, most maneuverable, most durable, and coolest machines and structures to accomplish a variety of tasks. Success in the competition will necessitate construction of trucks, bridges, elevators, bulldozers, conveyor belts, and other motorized contraptions to overcome obstacles. Familiarity with the LEGO Technic building system is desirable and can be obtained by attending FUNdamentals camp.

Poppin' (Robotic Funk Dancin)
A funk based robotic dance that involves the robot, body illusions, pantomime, body isolation and rhythm. The class will cover Body Waving (looking like an electric current is going through the body), Floats (creating footwork illusions like the moon walk, glides, wind walking & elevating), Ticking & Animation (giving the illusion of looking like a cartoon in a strobe light), Hitting (making the body have precise, sharp snaps to the beat of the music), as well as Choreography and Group Routines.
Session VI: August 11-22
Sports & Outdoor Adventures
This sports and fun-filled adventure camp is loaded with lots of activity and excitement. The emphasis of this camp is on having fun in with sports (basketball, soccer, gymnastics, climbing & more!) We will also be taking a trip to Adventure Playground and to an Oakland A’s game.
