Friday Teen Nights
"Unity In Our Community"
This program is a drop in activity for youth in 6th - 12 th grades
who reside in University Village. We operate the first and third
Friday of each month October - May from 6:30 - 8:30 P.M. in
the Community Center in University Village. We serve pizza and ice
cream, watch movies, play basketball, ping pong and lots more. This
is a wonderful opportunity to get to know other youth in the village
and just hang out and have a great time. Parents are also welcome
to stop by and say hi.
Academic Support Program
The Academic Support Program is a place where children who attend
Albany Middle School can come for assistance in their academic studies.
It is a time that children can work on their homework and cultivate
better study skills. The tutors are paid or volunteers, either UC
students, Albany High School Seniors or adults from the local community.
All tutors are screened and attend a tutor training workshop.
Who should attend?
All students are welcome to attend, but must be serious about
improving their studies. The atmosphere of the sessions will be
serious and quiet, but at the same time pleasant and friendly. This
will also be a time to build relationships with older students and
adults who can help guide the children they tutor.
