Open Recreation

"Open Recreation" Programs are open to the general public for a fee of $5/day. Sports programs available are Adult Basketball, Women's Basketball, Futsal, Table Tennis, Badminton and Weight Room privileges. Please check the Gym and Weight Room Schedule for days and times.

This entitles the holder to access to all classes in Yoga, Pilates, Core Conditioning, Bootcamp, Kojosho Karate, Tai Chi, Aerial and Zumba classes, as well as all Open Recreation programs.


Weight Room

University Village Recreation has a weight room that is open to Village Residents as well as the general public. Available are 2 Stairmasters, a rowing machine, a Precor and a LifeFitness eliptical trainer, a Lifecycle recumbant stationary cycle, a Lifecycle upright stationary cycle, a spin bike, a Gravitron and a Multi-Station Cybex unit.
There is also an assortment of free weights (dumb-bells) ranging from 3-75 lbs and an incline/decline bench.
Bosu and stability balls are also available for your use.

A Weight Room Orientation is available for anyone wishing to use the weight room. Please contact the community center office if you are interested in scheduling one. There is unlimited use with a Open Recreation Membership or Fitness Membership! Please check the Gym and Weight Room Schedule to see the current weight room hours of operation.

Lose weight, get fit, have fun! Come workout with friends in a positive, encouraging and energetic atmosphere. Bootcamp will be centered around improving your cardiovascular health, total bodystrength, and overall fitness performance. No prior exercise or athletic experience is needed as all exercises can be progressed or regressed depending on your fitness level. The training tools will include resistance bands, calisthenics, medicine balls, agility ladders, cycling,and plyometrics. Join us for a fun and challenging workout in a motivational environment.

Core Conditioning

Tighten, tone and strengthen all the muscles of your core!
This ½ hour class will focus on exercises designed to increase the stability, stamina and musculature of your midsection, hips and back. Challenging gymnastics equipment, exercise balls and your own body weight will be used to provide resistance for each movement.

Yoga is known for its mental, restorative and postural benefits as well as being a good core strength building program. This blend of 26 Styles of All Levels "Yoga For Everyone" increases flexibility, strength, endurance, balance, focus, mindfulness, and the overall health & healing of all body systems; pre & post natal women welcome! Zumba® Fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!

The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got a Zumba® class!

In the past years, the Zumba® program has become nothing short of a revolution, spreading like wildfire, and positioning itself as the single most influential movement in the industry of fitness.

Tai Chi

Whether it is your first pregnancy or not, pre-natal Pilates can support you as your body changes. 
The class will help you build strength, increase flexibility, improve balance and circulation, help the mind focus and release tension and stress.
