SKATEBOARDING CAMP

Description In this week long camp, skaters will learn: the physics of balancing and riding their boards; proper techniques for pushing, rolling and turning; basic flat ground tricks; some transition and obstacle skills (rails and small jump ramps). Class emphasis is on having comfort and confidence in their own skateboarding ablility as well as providing the basic building blocks for more advanced techniques and tricks. Participants must bring a good quality skateboard, helmet, knee and elbow pads.

Description

Double Diamond Baseball Camp will teach your child:
• Technical Ability—Hitting, power hitting, bunting, fielding, throwing,
  base running, positional specialties
• Tactical Ability—positioning, double plays, contact hitting, bunting,
   pitch recognition and batting strategy
• Mental Ability—No excuses! composure, confidence, determination,
  concentration, sign recognition
• Physical Ability—Hustle!, strength, agility, balance, coordination

Camps will be structured into the age groups below. Each age group will learn the fundamentals of EVERY position.

Notes:
• Children must wear athletic shoes, baseball cap and athletic clothes
• Children should bring GLOVE, cap and water bottle each day

CIRCUS CAMPS

Description Learn a wide range of circus skills with an emphasis on juggling, unicycling, stilt-walking, tandem acrobatics and aerial awareness, as well as training on circus apparatus such as the Rola Bola! Students will also be introduced to theatrical expression, clowning and creative movement. A performance will be presented to family and friends on the last day of camp!!

From Giotto to Picasso: Understanding Great Artists and Their Media

Description This is an interactive art camp which molds both art and art history together. Kids learn to paint on their backs like Michelangelo and self-portraits like Picasso, while also learning about the artist and their unique place in history. The campers are then encouraged to explore that particular medium or technique as they create their own art work. They will come away with not only a collection of their art work, but a greater understanding and appreciation of the artistic community.

Description

Description

Engineering FUNdamentals: Have your child become a Play Well Engineer! Students take on real-life engineering challenges that explore concepts in physics, architecture, mechanical and structural engineering with over 100,000 pieces of LEGO® material. From racecars to Battletracks, this is a hands-on and minds-on camp suitable for LEGO novices to "maniacs." Designed by engineers, the curriculum challenges both new and returning students to reach the next level of engineering comprehension all while having fun.

Description Chess is fun and can be learned quickly and easily. Studies have found that chess helps
improve test results in reading, science, and math, and produces growth in critical cognitive
skills. Beyond academia, chess influences social behavior including self esteem, respect for
others, patience, and good manners. And did we mention it’s FUN!!
Boards and sets are provided for our classes. The minimum class size is 10; maximum is 20.
